Bits of gossip of OnePlus 8 series have as of now begun driving in. A new leak recommends that the OnePlus 8 and Pro are coming sooner than expected.

OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro is expected to go official in 2020, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer has hypothetically started working on the next series after launching its earlier series of OnePlus 7. Keeping the company’s track record, it is refreshing its smartphone every 6 months, and the expected series will be OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. We have seen many rumors and leak images of the new series and the device are featuring a punch-hole display. A new leak coming from leakster Max J. who goes by the Twitter also suggests the same. The leak reveals that the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro are in the works.

    About OnePlus

OnePlus Technology Co., Ltd., commonly referred to as OnePlus, is a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, which is based in Shenzhen, Guangdong. It was founded by Pete Lau and Carl Pei in December 2013. The company officially serves 34 countries and regions around the world as of July 2018.

    OnePlus 8 Launch Date

OnePlus is continuously refreshing their smartphone models in every six months, starting from OnePlus 6 which was launched in June 2018, OnePlus 6T at the end of October 2018, OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro was announced in May 2019 and OnePlus 7T in September 2019 and latest OnePlus 7T Pro in early of this October 2019. Considering the trend of 6 and 7 Series smartphones, we are assuming the company may reveal the next-generation smartphone series in early May 2020.

    OnePlus 8 Series: About Rumors

The company may follow the same strategy as it followed for 6 and 7 Series, on the upcoming OnePlus 8 series also. In other words, we may get an announcement of OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 8 Pro launch in the first half of next year and later it may be followed with the OnePlus 8T and the OnePlus 8T. We can expect OnePlus 8 as a replacement for the OnePlus 7T Pro.

Some 3D images of OnePlus 8 have also reportedly leaked online. The images show a design that is quite similar to the OnePlus 7T Pro. The device has a curved display with minimal bezels and a hole-punch camera module on the top left corner. The rear panel has a blue gradient design and a triple rear camera setup placed vertically. However, it should be noted that OnePlus has not confirmed these reports. It should also be considered that using a hole-punch display would be a strange design choice for the company after already implementing a pop-up camera module.

In 2019 OnePlus was focused on making 90hz display technology standard and for 2020 it may be for 5G network compatibility. OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has reportedly said that the next generation of smartphones could support 5G. Apparently, the company is looking at the suitability of 5G-enabled smartphones in various markets and planning its device features accordingly. Having said that, OnePlus had launched the OnePlus 7 Pro 5G in the UK market in the month of May.

    Lau has mentioned,

For 2020, a flagship trend is definitely that flagship devices have 5G. Speaking about 5G development in different countries, things are at various different stages. In India, for example, there may not be 5G availability next year. So again, this has to go back to looking at suitability for products in different regions. So, the company may launch 2020 OnePlus devices with 5G connectivity in markets that support 5G, while countries like India will receive 5G-enabled smartphones when they are ready.
