After iPhone, now Xiaomi is also working on bringing a mini smartphone. A new report suggests that two compact smartphones from Xiaomi are currently in the making and they are likely to be launched in the coming months. Although not much information is available about the smartphone yet, some specifications have also been revealed in the report which can be seen in the upcoming phone.

According to an online report, two new phones with model numbers L3 and L3A have now been spotted running MIUI code. Along with this, it is also believed that these can be compact phones of the company and which will be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 chipset. The phone with the model number L3 in the phone could also have a 6.3-inch display.

The compact-flagship phones would rival Apple’s iPhone 13 mini that succeeds the iPhone 12 mini. Both Apple ‘mini’ phones come with a 5.4-inch OLED display and the company’s proprietary Bionic chipsets. In the Android space, not many brands are yet experimenting with a compact-flagship smartphone as a large screen has its own advantages and is more preferred for viewing videos or gaming. However, there could be a market for small screen phones, likely more popular with elder users.

    Upcoming Xiaomi Launch

For now, the company should focus on the launch of its next flagship smartphone – the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. There are also a lot of rumors about the premium device and it is likely that the company will launch it in China by next month. It has been suggested that the phone will come with Leica powered optics, which will include a triple-lens camera setup with a 200 MP main sensor and two 50 MP sensors for ultra-wide and periscope zoom.

Expected Specifications of Xiaomi 12 Ultra

The smartphone company is expected to launch its Xiaomi 12 series in China next month and we’re likely to see multiple phones in the series, as is pretty common with it’s releases. However, we now have some new details for what could be the highest-end version in the series, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra. As per a new report by tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo, the Xiaomi 12 Ultra could feature a Leica-branded camera. The Xiaomi 12 Ultra is expected to have a later launch after the rest of the 12 series is unveiled next month.

It is believed that the Xiaomi 12 Ultra will be the first smartphone yet to arrive with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 chipset. We can expect Qualcomm to announce the launch of the chipset next month. For India, Xiaomi will unveil its recently launched Redmi Note 11 smartphone as Redmi Note 11T 5G on November 30. The series is likely to be launched at a starting price of Rs 16,999.
