Google has recently rolled out new features for the new Gmail Web. Google has announced that new improvements are coming to the Gmail web user interface designed to enhance the user experience when sending and receiving mail. These include changes in the email web user interface to how recipient details appear when adding them to the “To, Cc and Bcc” fields, new Avatar chips for recipients, and messages that are communicated with users outside the organization or organization. Displays while communicating. Here are all the upcoming changes in email and how users will benefit from it.

    Gmail update

    New Avatar in Gmail

When composing emails in Gmail, you can sometimes get confused with same-sounding names or email addresses. To help users while composing emails, recipients will now appear in an avatar chip that will help the sender better identify the recipient. This should help reduce errors, especially when sending emails to large groups of people – the avatar chip will appear when the correct recipient is selected. Gmail will also warn users to fix these receipt errors before sending mail.

    Gmail update

While you can use your corporate email address to talk to people in your organization, most mail services will warn you when you send messages to accounts outside the organization. However, the web email can now smartly identify accounts you’ve previously contacted and highlight them with a dark yellow color. The email will not mark different domain names as “external” if they are mailed to the same company (eg user @youtube.com user @gmail.com) to eliminate ‘redundant’ warnings are from.

Google has announced the rollout of new features to Gmail for Web via a blog post. It says the improvements will help users connect with their colleagues and stakeholders quickly and with confidence. Among the slew of updates, Google has added a right-click menu that allows users to view a contact’s full name and copy their email address.

Also, the user can now decide how a contact appears to other recipients in an email. For example, if you have a contact saved as Project Manager, you can choose a different name that will be displayed to others receiving the email. This change will only apply to the said email and the contact name won’t be changed in your contacts list.

With the latest update, recipients will now have an avatar chip attached to the recipients they add while composing an email, which should help identify who has been added. A Gmail Web user can access a user’s information card by hovering over recipient chips or selecting and using the keyboard shortcut Alt/Option + →.

    Identify Duplicates in Gmail

    Gmail update

If you’ve already included a recipient in the To or Cc or Secret Bcc section, the email service from Google will now show a checkmark to indicate they’ve been added. Drag and drop between fields will now automatically clean up duplicates between different fields.

The email service is also improving the indicator to show where your keyboard cursor or mouse pointer is with a gray menu when a drop-down item is selected. These improvements and additions are rolling out to web users now and will soon be available to all Google Workspace, G Suite Basic, and Business customers, according to the company.

The new features for Gmail for Web have started rolling out from Wednesday, October 20, and will be available to all Google Workspace, G Suite Basic, and Business customers. Users with personal Google accounts can’t access the newly announced features.
